Join us at the Burton Chamber AGM annual celebration set to be biggest ever

Riding high on an increase of 20% in members in 2019, Burton & District Chamber of Commerce is inviting local businesses to attend its annual AGM and celebration lunch in Burton on Wednesday 6th May.

Held at Burton Albion Football Club, the annual event is a chance to celebrate business in Burton and hear from President of Burton and District Chamber of Commerce, Nik Hardy of Hardy Signs about the national and local opportunities and challenges on the horizon. With four new Chamber Council member appointments being announced at the event.

Local business people can still apply for the Burton and District Chamber of Commerce Council Member posts, especially those who are looking to develop, grow and network with influential business figures. The council meets monthly to discuss a range of issues related to regional business and Chamber activities. Nominations must be made in writing and returned by close of play on Friday 17th April.

Nik Hardy, President of Burton and District Chamber of Commerce said: “This is going to be a great event which I am very proud to be hosting for the second year running. The Burton Chamber continues to go from strength-to-strength with even more members taking advantage of the wide range of funding, support and networking opportunities.

“For us, being a Chamber member has always been good for business and the Hardy team find it invaluable to network in Burton and across the whole Greater Birmingham area. We’ve made some great new connections which have been instrumental in delivering the company’s most successful year to date, posting record turnover and profits.”

Chris Plant, Divisional Director for Burton & District and Chase Chamber of Commerce spoke about the membership boom and the strong business community in Burton:

“Burton has always been a strong hub for attracting new businesses, even with Brexit uncertainty hanging over us in the last new years. We are also seeing a fresh resurgence in Chamber membership which has been driven by our growth strategy led by our new Business Development Manager Costas Damianou.

“Our must-attend annual celebration lunch has always been open to all, encouraging non-members to meet us and find out what they can get out of being part of the Chamber – I look forward to seeing you there!”

The Annual General Meeting will start at 11.30am for Chamber members wishing to attend, registration from 11.15am, followed by the business lunch commencing at 12.15pm.

For those not attending the formal AGM meeting registration will be from 12.00pm.
