Experience New Life at Staffordshire Farm attraction this Half Term

Post Category : Client News

This half term families are encouraged to experience rural life as a farmer, as a Staffordshire farm celebrates New Life at the Farm from 15th to 23rd February 2020.

The National Forest Adventure Farm, near Burton on Trent, which sees over 200,000 visitors flock to the family farm attraction each year, is bracing itself for the lambing season, one of the busiest times in the farming calendar, when they expect over 700 lambs to be born in its Lambing Live tent during the Spring with 130 due in February half term alone.

Will Jay, Animal Barn Manager at the farm explains how families can experience what it’s like to be a farmer: “Lambing time is one of the most exciting and busiest times of the year for us, as we brace ourselves to be on red alert 24/7 caring for the sheep and new lambs, as they arrive over the coming months.

“Our February Half term New Life event is the perfect chance for families to spend time together and gain hands on experience working on the farm, by bottle feeding the baby animals and helping with lots of fun farming tasks; and if you are really lucky actually witnessing the magical moment of a baby animal being born.

“Even though we are a very busy family attraction, people may not realise that the Robinson family have farmed here for 50 years. Currently the farm has a herd of over 700 sheep plus 300 acres for arable farming and land set aside for stewardship schemes.

“Last year we welcomed a record number of visitors during half term who were eager to experience life on the farm and help us look after the baby animals, so we look forward to seeing more families making life long memories and having fun this year!”
